Sensual Censorship on Social Media: The Silencing of Sexual Liberation
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to find hyper-sexualized, dehumanizing content online, yet when someone talks about healing sexual trauma or reclaiming their body in a healthy, empowered way, they’re met with bans, restrictions, and shadowbanning? If you’re in the world of sacred sexuality, conscious kink, or trauma-informed sexual healing, you already know—social media is not a safe space for these conversations.
I know this firsthand. My Instagram account, where I shared educational content on conscious kink therapy, sacred sexuality, and trauma healing, was banned. And the most absurd part? It was flagged as a potential human trafficking page. Read that again. An account dedicated to healing, empowerment, and education was labeled as something dangerous while countless accounts promoting actual exploitation, misogyny, and abuse remain untouched. WTF?!
The Unspoken Digital Purge
Social media platforms claim to protect users, but in reality, they’re reinforcing outdated puritanical beliefs that sexuality—especially conscious, liberated, and female-led sexuality—is something to be feared, policed, and suppressed. Educators, therapists, and healers like myself are being shut down while hyper-commercialized, objectifying content is amplified. Why? Because empowered, self-actualized people are harder to control. And because true sexual liberation threatens the structures that profit from our shame and disconnection.
Countless creators in this space have been shadowbanned—meaning their content doesn’t show up in searches, their posts are hidden from followers, and their reach is stifled. Others wake up to their accounts being deleted without warning, losing years of work and community-building. Meanwhile, those of us dedicated to healing and teaching consent, embodiment, and trauma recovery are treated as threats.
Education is Not Exploitation
Let’s be clear: the content being censored isn’t pornography. It isn’t dangerous. It’s education. It’s guidance for people seeking to reclaim their pleasure after years of sexual shame. It’s support for survivors of trauma who are learning how to feel safe in their bodies again. It’s breaking generational cycles of repression and pain. And yet, we are silenced.
The reality is that social media giants have automated systems and biased moderation that lump together anything remotely sensual, erotic, or sexual—regardless of context. But what’s more insidious is the disproportionate targeting of women, LGBTQ+ educators, and sex-positive healers while violent, degrading content continues to thrive unchecked.
Building a Space Beyond Censorship
This is exactly why I am launching my new website and online community at ConsciousKinkTherapy.com—a space where we can talk about sacred sexuality, kink as a healing practice, and radical self-liberation without fear of being silenced.
Here, we can have open discussions, ask questions, and share our experiences in a shame-free, non-judgmental space where censorship isn’t controlling the narrative. This is a space for those who refuse to be shut down. For those who want to explore their desires, their pleasure, and their power without fear.
If you’ve felt the effects of digital censorship, if you’ve been shadowbanned for speaking your truth, or if you simply want a place to learn and connect without restriction—you are welcome here.
Let’s reclaim our voices. Let’s own our pleasure. Let’s rise together.
Join the "Sovereign Pleasure Community" and let’s keep the conversation going—without censorship.
